Is usepaid.app safe? We checked the UsePaid claim portal
As of 2 October, claiming on usepaid.app can't drain your wallet: it never asks you to sign. Payment is the open question. A copy sits at usspaid.app.
Is usepaid.app safe? As of 2 October 2026, the claim portal can't drain your wallet. You sign in with X, which gives UsePaid read-only access to your account, and you type in a Solana address. The portal never asks to connect your wallet or sign anything. What it can't guarantee is when you get paid: UsePaid holds the fees and pays claims from a queue. Use only usepaid.app. A copy of the site is live at usspaid.app, with two s's.
UsePaid sends the creator fees from token launches to X accounts. A coin's fees go to whoever the launcher names, and that person collects them. It took off in late September. On 26 September UsePaid posted that $1.54 million in fees had been claimed in 24 hours, 26 times the day before, and capped payouts through X Money at $750 a person per day. On 27 September it paused X Money payments, saying "existing balances remain safe". On 28 September it opened the claim portal, which pays out mostly in SOL. Since 29 September its docs split new fees 65% to the recipient, 10% to UsePaid and 25% to buying back and burning its token, $PAID.
What we checked. We read the claim page's code as served on 2 October. Signing in sends you to X with two permissions, users.read and tweet.read: UsePaid can see your profile and posts, and it can't post or send messages for you. You then type a wallet address, and the page sends that address to UsePaid's server with your request. There is no wallet connection, no signature request and no transaction to approve anywhere in the claim code. A site that never asks for a signature can't take anything from your wallet.
What we couldn't check: whether claims are being paid. UsePaid doesn't publish the wallet it pays claims from, and we found no claimant posting a payout transaction, or saying a claim was stuck. The fees sit with UsePaid until it sends them, so you're trusting UsePaid to pay. Balances owed through X Money from before the pause are handled separately, and UsePaid hasn't said when they'll be paid.
The copy. usspaid.app, one letter off, serves UsePaid's branding and an older version of its docs, describing the 80/20 X Money split UsePaid has since replaced. On 2 October its code has no wallet functions; it's a static copy of the site. Copies like this are often how drainers start, so treat any UsePaid link that isn't usepaid.app as fake, and never connect a wallet to claim fees.
UsePaid's idea is being copied in other ways too. On 1 October a pump.fun coin, $WIRED, pitched itself as "creator fees, directed to anyone on X", then its creator sold out and kept the fees (our report).
- Whether portal claims are being paid, and how fast. UsePaid hasn't published its payout wallet.
- When balances owed through X Money from before 27 September will be paid.
- Who runs usspaid.app, and whether it will add wallet code later.
The claims, checked
who said it, and what the evidence shows“Claim directly to a Solana wallet”
The portal sends your typed address and request to UsePaid's server. It never asks your wallet to sign. Whether the payment arrives is a separate question we couldn't check.
“"Existing balances remain safe"”
The balances are held by UsePaid, and it hasn't published the wallets holding them, so this can't be checked on-chain.
